The parabolic shape directs light parallel to the modifiers facing from the point of incidence. Want a harder beam of focussed light? Use it bare with the deflector plate. Want to broaden your light pattern slightly? Add the inner diffuser. Want a wide throw of soft light? Attach the front diffuser. I found this Softbox to be well built, with quality materials and the set up is as described on YouTube, it's easy. Shipping was fast, almost as if it was shipped before I knew I wanted it. This was an excellent buy. Easy to setup and also change out the mount as I have two different light setups. Well built, and comes with it own carry bag.
Light from the softbox with the Speedotron 202vf is well diffused and even. Can't ask for anything more....

The results I get with this are awesome! The rapid pro design makes taking this on location an option. Deep Studio quality almost anywhere! The only drawback, and this is nitpicking, is the weight. I really need to tighten my AD400 Really hard to make sure it doesnt sag under the weight of this modifier. I would not throw it on any strobe.

Received a defective unit where the locking button to the main stem. Strobepro quickly shipped a replacement and then, I discovered a missing 2nd screw on the speed ring. Strobepro sent a replacement screw +1 to rectify the situation. I suggest checking the units function as I had to use alternative methods to replace the units function for a paying project.

Love this deep dish pizza... er, light modifier. Ive sued it a few times and really like the control of the spill and levels of diffusion it provides

This is my fourth StrobePro octabox, and it fully lives up to the quality I have come to expect and love with their lighting accessory line. Top quality without the heavy price tag that usually is associated with products this well built. And their customer service is top level too. Plus it certainly doesn’t hurt that it’s a homegrown company. All around a positive experience to do business with.

Mine came with a small hole/rip but it's cosmetic. I feel that the other strobepro modifiers like the Octabox are higher quality, especially the diffuser material. This one works fine, just has crinkly or crunchy sounding diffusers. One thing to note is this thing is deep. I bought it for the round shape vs the octa shape but it's just too deep for smaller spaces.

I love the soft ox, the lightings great and this is an affordable option. No need for an expensive modifier. Works great with my Westscott lights. My only issue just for feedback is the paint on the adjustable bracket is like grease and rubbed right off into my hands and stained some clothes without realizing it.

How deep is the 47" Rapid Pro Parabolic Softbox?The 36" one says that it is 30" deep.

What is the difference between this product and the 47 Rapid Deep Parabolic Soft Box? They look to be slightly different shape from the pictures, which one is closer to a true parabola. I'm looking to use with the focusing bracket.
You need to use the 47 Rapid Deep Parabolic Soft Box. It is designed not to have the mechanism in the middle so it can work with the focusing bracket. The Rapid Pro will not work with it.<br/>Thanks

Looking for a super quick set up umbrella style parabolic 47'' deep with Bowens and a beauty dish that can be packed away without taking any diffusers off. Is it possible with this softbox the I can reach in through the back to remove the dish and keep all diffusers on and then collapse it and pack it away? Needs to fit a Godox AD600Pro. Thank you.
